The EJTN 1hour lunch time webinar series in the format 1 topic/1 expert/1 hour on the impact of COVID-19 on different legal issues continues!
The upcoming episode, composed of 30 min presentation and Q/A session, is scheduled on the 7th of October at 13h.00 CEST and it will address the topic of “Publicity as a basic principle of the criminal procedure in the context of digital justice”.
The webinar will cover sensitive practical issues related to competition and reconciliation of the publicity principle with other basic principles and rights, such as personal data protection, health and safety rights, rights to personal life, child protection, witness and victim protection, etc. A number of requirements of EU Directives and ECtHR case law will be lavishly discussed in the context of best-practice solutions. Relevant additional topics related to detention will also be included.
The Speaker, Iva Pushkarova, is author of more than 100 comparative and case-law legal studies. She is Associate Prof., PhD at Sofia University 'St. Clement of Ochrid' and regular expert and Council of Europe consultant for the Criminal Law reforms of Bulgaria, Georgia, Ukraine and Montenegro. Iva Pushkarova teaches Criminal Law (since 2005) and International Criminal Law courses (since 2011) at the Sofia University and the Ministry of Interior Academy (since 2011). She is also trainer at the Bulgarian National Institute of Justice.
