EJTN’s 2019 Annual Report, which recounts the achievements and developments of EJTN over the past year, is now available!
The report depicts a new exceptionally productive year for the EJTN Network. A record number of 7,349 individual judges, prosecutors, trainers and trainees received training in the past year. In 2019, EJTN provided for a record of 36,427 individual training days to Europe’s judiciary. Furthermore, EJTN’s Exchange Programme provided for 3,220 judicial exchange and study visit places – representing a 10% increase in places compared to the previous year.
In 2019, EJTN also paved the way to important perspectives. The General Assembly in Bucharest in June 2019 stood out as a particularly seminal and ambitious event, where Network Members gathered and unanimously adopted the 2021-2027 EJTN Strategic Plan. The Members also renewed on this occasion the composition of its governance bodies and entrusted me as newly elected Secretary General with its future leadership.
The past year also saw many other key achievements and opened the door to new possibilities, thanks to the expertise from all EU Member States and financed by the European Commission Directorate-General for Justice & Consumers, notably the launch of the ‘Study on the Training Needs of Court Staff on EU Law in the EU’ and the finalisation of the Rule of Law project punctuated by a Conference held at the Court of Justice of the European Union in May 2019, the publication of a Practitioners’ Manual and a Training Strategy Guide.
As with previous years, the remarkable results of 2019 would not have been possible without the unwavering commitment of EJTN’s Members and Observers as well as invaluable Partners and dedicated EJTN Secretariat staff.
You are cordially invited to read about the Network and its actors, activities and achievements in the EJTN Annual Report 2019.
