EJTN is delighted to announce the successful implementation of its first webinar in 2021 organised by the Civil law sub-working group on the topic of ‘Brussels I regulation – jurisdiction and the recognition and enforcement of judgements in civil matters’ on 4 -5 February 2021.
The initial training was foreseen to take place at the Greek National School for the Judiciary in Thessaloniki, Greece, however EJTN had to react to the new EU wide restrictions imposed as results of the COVID 19 pandemic. . The webinar with its redesigned agenda was attended by 40 participants, representing 10 European Member States.
The novelty of this webinar was that EJTN has accommodated the request of the National Institute of Magistracy from Romania and offered continuous translation to and from Romanian. The webinar was streamed over two consecutive mornings and familiarised the participants with the “Brussels I regulation No 1215/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 12 December 2012 on jurisdiction and the recognition and enforcement of judgments in civil and commercial matters”.
The experts lay a special focus on trademark cross-border litigation and on relevant case law and tools.
The European added value of the webinar was enhanced by the precious collaboration with the experts from the University of Maastricht and University of Antwerp, faculty of Law of the University of Zagreb and University of Ljubljana, Utrecht University/T.M.C. Asser Institute, Belgian Court of Cassation and the EJN.
