The EJTN Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms Sub-Working Group (HFR SWG) brings together judicial training institutions and representatives from the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) and the HELP in the 28 project of the Council of Europe (CoE) to design and implement high-quality trainings in a wealth of Human and Fundamental Rights areas.
AIM
The HFR trainings seek to bring together judges, prosecutors and trainers and provide participants with unique events offering an opportunity to exchange experiences and best practices with their counterparts across Europe as well as to discuss the most recent developments in their field of professional interest with leading experts and practitioners.
All trainings include a set of framework lectures and multiple workshops where participants discuss practical cases and exchange views on their domestic legislation and the application of the relevant EU legal instruments.
KEY TOPICS
In addition, through its longstanding partnership with the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR), one training session is organised each year at this Court, providing magistrates from across the EU with the opportunity to attend a Grand Chamber hearing and to discuss the most pressing issues in the field of EU Human Rights with current and former ECtHR officials.
